🎚️🎛️ DJ Sets

I'm fond of music just like anyone, but I think I got a little carried away with my fondness. I spent hours teaching myself how to DJ, and I still have a long way to go.

Scroll down to hear some of the sets I've recorded.

A short intro for a short mix is what you need, so here it goes. I personally love any song when I slow it down, and that's exactly what I did for this mix. It features tracks by some genre defining artists, DJ Koze, Versalife, Bobby Cazanova, Efdemin and Aurora Halal. Enjoy!
Let me begin by giving credit to Sven Vath, an early riser in the electronic music scene. He played DJ Koze's remix for "It's Only" by Matthew Herbert in one of his sets, and that was the first time I heard the notorious Koze sound. I can positively say, that music has meant something very different to me ever since. Maybe that's why I've recorded an hour and a half of some my favourite tracks by him. Trust me when I say there'll be a part 2, and 3.
I was rather late to the party when it came to watching HBO's "The Sopranos." It was a real eye opener. So much so that I tried to create the feeling of power one felt standing close to a really loud sound system. A feeling of power, Newark's mobsters would be familiar with.

The chilly winter called for some warm music. I dug into my colelction and recored 35 minutes that felt just enough. Tracks featured by D-Man, Mouse on Mars, John Cooper Clarke, Aphex Twin, Metamatics, Alter Ego and Efdemin.
Went into this one with no prep. Played what I got my hands on. Tried to leep it fluid, with one track seamlessly flowing into the other, hence the name, Melt! Tracks featured by Atom TM, Rhadoo, Russ Gabriel, Roman Flugel, Oni, K-Lone, Curtis Electronix, Ectomorph and ITPDWIP.
Lockdown happened. Bats were being spoken of, masks were being bought for a fortune. Times were strange. That didn't stop Devika Khosla from coming up with a stunning artwork that caught the pulse of the times. We decided we needed a mix to capture the mood of the nonchalant bat, and capture we did with the infamous sounds of Detroit. Tracks featured by Aux 88, Cyborg 95, Blackploid, Glass Figure, Composite Profuse, Morphology, Luz1e and Skee Mask. Head to https://www.mixcloud.com/sheru95/maskon/ if the link doesn't work.
